Bob Stoops... On Trent Williams playing center:
"I don't know if it's fair to say it's easy. He has worked there through the year just for depth purposes. He is an excellent football player. I know it will give us a major presence wherever he is at, so hopefully it will work."
On Stanford player Chase Beeler:
"He's an excellent young man. He is a great student-athlete in that he does a great job with his academic work. He worked hard here, always had a good attitude coming to practice, technically was sound in how he played, he was still young for us, so he hadn’t fully matured yet but knew he would have a strong future."
On Landry making strides during bowl practices:
"He has done a nice job. He has come on. I feel he has done that through the year. In the end, the extra work with him and the receivers together have made some strides."
On defending Stanford running back Toby Gerhart:
"It isn't just defending Toby Gerhart, its defending the whole package. They do such a great job of moving their formations and their tight ends around, and trying to create seams in space. He has great patience and vision to wait for those seams, and then he has the power and quickness when he does see it to gain yards and break tackles. They do an excellent job. He, in particular, also does a great job running the ball with his size and strength, protecting his legs and gaining yards when they aren’t there."
On Chris Brown and DeMarco Murray's final game together:
"It has been really neat to see just the two of them palling around together. Not just the friendship they have, but how they work together, they push each other. They are genuinely excited to see the other do well. I think it's fair that between the two of them, they have really complemented each other really well. You look a year ago and they are 2,000 yard rushers. That doesn’t happen a lot and its pretty special."
Yesterday, Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops addressed the media at his weekly press conference, the final one of the year. He discussed this weekend's upcoming Bedlam match-up and addressed Oklahoma's blowout loss to Texas Tech.

Notable Quotes:
On Drew Allen: "He gets the usual snaps that a No. 2 guy would get. I haven't counted them up but I feel comfortable with it. He's doing a nice job, he's coming along and getting better and making good improvement. We're happy with what he's doing."
On Tress Way place kicking: "I just don't feel that Jimmy (Stevens) has been consistent as he needs to be. Tress has showed me enough in practice that he is much better than he was a year ago and he's been more consistent. He deserves the opportunity and we will see how he handles it."

ESPN's College Football Live Bus made a stop in Norman on Thursday and Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops appeared on the show to discuss OU's quarterback situation. Most notably, Stoops said in the interview Sam Bradford will "probably not" dress out against Miami. (Video Below)
The epic OU-Miami rivalry was renewed on Sept. 8, 2007, when unranked Miami traveled to Norman to face No. 5 Oklahoma, the Hurricanes in two decades prior to the meeting had three wins over the Sooners.
However, the Sooners in the post Adrian Peterson era, and a then freshman quarterback Sam Bradford, faced a newly hired first-year head coach Randy Shannon. At the end of the day, after a 51-13 blowout win, Sam Bradford threw five touchdowns and a new era began.
Final Score: 51-13 Sooners Win
Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford threw five TDs, demoralizing Miami
Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford threw five TDs, demoralizing Miami's upset hopes during UM's most lopsided defeat since a 66-13 loss at Syracuse in 1998. This was supposed to be a statement game. It was . . . for the fifth-ranked University of Oklahoma. But for the Miami Hurricanes, on the receiving end of a 51-13 throttling, it only left more questions. (Miami Herald)
Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops addressed the media Tuesday at his weekly press conference, previewing the Miami game. Among the subjects, he updated the status of QB Sam Bradford, he talked about the storied rivalry between Miami and Oklahoma. (Video Below)
Sam Bradford interview: On Monday's edition of College Football Live, ESPN aired Kirk Herbstreit's conversation with Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford. Take a look...
"It's a disappointing and hurtful time; I know everyone's heard about the accident with Corey Wilson, or if you haven't, it's a tragic accident. We're all just praying for Corey and his family. It's a really difficult time. Medically, what was out from his family I'm not going to elaborate on anything else than what was said yesterday. We're all just continuing to pray for him and have him in our thoughts and his family."
Stoops on Oklahoma's offensive line
"Offensive line, of course losing four of the five starters from a year ago, that's where another major issue will be, and we'll see. Those guys are at this point, it's just everything, whether it's with their work ethic, their attitude, those things need to improve. They haven't had the winter everyone else has had. They right now are the weak link of the team and we'll see if they can respond and have any kind of spring and summer to help us be a team that can contend for a Big 12 Championship.
Stoops on Oklahoma's special teams
"Overall, I think special teams-wise, same thing. I expect us to improve. Tress Way will start off taking over for Mike Knall in punting. Through the year last year I thought he did a nice job and he's had a good winter too with kickoffs, field goals, all of that. We expect Jimmy [Stevens] to be better, but I also expect Matt Moreland and Tress Way to be better. Also we have a newcomer in Bryce Easley coming in from Norman North who is a guy that we're excited about as well. I do feel that overall those positions will be improved for us, and that'll be a big plus as well."
Bob Stoops on his time as Defensive Coordinator at Florida:
"They're great memories and relationships. There's lots of great friendships. I learned a lot in handling situations. It makes a big difference in my career."
"I had great feelings and memories there. But I also felt great about Oklahoma. I love the path I was on there. We were building something there that was very specific and I wanted to continue it."
Urban Meyer on facing the best offense in the country:
"It's a lot of pressure on an offense when you face a team that scores a lot. This year, we've improved. When you force a team to punt the ball, it's not as much of a concern. Not one time this fall have we felt like we were over-matched. Last year was different."
Sooners defeat Tigers with fake field goal: Oklahoma can now look forward to playing Texas, although it may be a while before the Sooners shake the memory of Brad Smith. Smith, Missouri's redshirt freshman quarterback, had the third-ranked Sooners on the run all game long. Oklahoma needed a touchdown on a fake field goal with 6:33 left to escape with a 31-24 victory Saturday night. Smith carried 26 times for 213 yards -- a record for Missouri quarterbacks -- and two touchdowns. He also threw for 178 yards and a score, accounting for 391 of the Tigers' 449 yards. "Brad Smith, just an incredible performance,'' Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said. (ESPN.com)
Shields leads Oklahoma past Missouri: Larry Shields, a sophomore, scored two touchdowns today, one on a 65-yard punt return, in leading Oklahoma to a 13-3 victory over Missouri. The victory, Oklahoma's fifth without defeat in the Big Eight Conference, set the stage for next week's championship meeting between Oklahoma and undefeated Nebraska. (NY Times)
OU dominates Nebraska: When the Cornhuskers finally scored, it was their defense that did it. Defensive tackle Chris Spachman returned a fumble 76 yards for a touchdown with 26 seconds remaining. All that did was spoil the Sooners' shutout in a 27-7 victory before a chilled crowd of 75,004 at Owen Field. Oklahoma supporters say the loss to Miami came before the Sooners developed an offense that belonged on the same field with their defense, which leads the nation. They say it is no coincidence that the Sooners' offense began to click after freshman quarterback Jamelle Holieway from L.A. Banning High School replaced injured starter Troy Aikman during the only loss. (From LA Times)
Sooners upset No. 25 Texas: John Blake will never forget his first win as coach of Oklahoma one of the biggest upsets in the 91-year history of the Red River classic with Texas. Reserve tailback James Allen scored on a 2-yard run in overtime yesterday as Oklahoma rallied from an 11-point deficit to shock No. 25 Texas 30-27 to trigger a wild celebration.(AP/NY Daily News)
Sooners stay perfect: The No.2-ranked Oklahoma Sooners proved they can win without Tony Casillas, and it`s a good thing, because the all-America noseguard may be missing from the lineup for a while. Casillas played three plays before suffering a knee injury Saturday, but the stout Sooner defense slammed the door on the Texas Longhorns anyway in a 14-7 victory. (AP)
Sooners run to victory: Shrimpsized Greg Pruitt, a 176-pound meteor, blazed for three touchdowns and over 200 yards rushing today to give the Oklahoma Sooners a 48-27 victory over Texas in a brutal, sledgehammer war of wishbone offenses. (AP... More From ("Sooners Stun Texas" UPI)
Switzer furious with officials: Only the fourth tie in 79 years of the Oklahoma-Texas series left Texas Coach Fred Akers thankful and Oklahoma Coach Barry Switzer fighting mad at the officials yesterday. The top-ranked Longhorns gained the 15-15 tie on Jeff Ward's 32-yard field goal in the rain as time ran out after Switzer of the No. 3-rated Sooners had ordered an intentional safety. "It was a tremendous thing for us to salvage a tie," said Akers. (AP.. More from "Switzer blames officials for tie" Associated Press)
