OU vs Miami Predictions

Here are a few predictions for upcoming Saturday Night match-up between No. 8 Oklahoma vs No. 17 Miami.

John Tamanaha, NBCSports.com
No matter who the quarterbacks are on either side - OU coach Bob Stoops says Bradford will not start - this game will come down to defense. With that in mind, we need to side with the Sooners, who lead the nation in rushing defense, total defense and tackles for losses... Oklahoma over Miami, 27-17

Since losing to USC in the 2005 Orange Bowl, Oklahoma has gone 16-13 in games played outside of the state of Oklahoma, and 29-0 around home. Last week was an aberration. At home, in a game like this, the Cane defense will be flying around all over the place making life tough for Jones, there will be at least three key takeaways, and Harris will go back to being Harris again for just enough scoring drives to get by. It's not going to be a smooth win for the Canes, but it'll be a good one... Miami over Oklahoma, 20-16

Tim Griffin, Big 12 Blogger, ESPN.com
The big question all week is whether we will see Sam Bradford back in the lineup. The Sooners likely don't need him -- particularly if backup Landry Jones shows the form he employed in his record-breaking start against Tulsa... Oklahoma over Miami, 24-14

Heather Dinich, ACC Blogger, ESPN.com
It doesn't matter who is playing quarterback for the Sooners, because their defense will be too good for Jacory Harris and Mark Whipple to overcome... Oklahoma over Miami, 17-14

John Werner, Waco Tribune
Though Miami is playing at home, this might not be the best week to see a hot Oklahoma team. After a season-opening loss to BYU, the Sooners have responded with a 64-0 blowout of Idaho State and a 45-0 thrashing of Tulsa with Landry Jones at quarterback.... Oklahoma over Miami, 28-17

An overwhelming eight-out-of-nine college football writers and analyst predict Oklahoma over Miami. Many of them have confidence OU's defense will step-up and stop Miami's QB Jacory Harris and Landry Jones will be efficient enough to carry Oklahoma to a victory...
