Coach Stoops avoids Pac-10 officiating questions
Coach Bob Stoops on Pac-10 officiating: Coach Stoops today, commented on last weekend's Pac-10 officials controversial call. "Hey, that's the way it is," Sooners' Coach Bob Stoops said on Monday's Big 12 coaches' conference call, "so we're going to go play and hopefully play as well as we can." Asked if Stoops even saw the play in question? "I did," Stoops said. "But for me to comment on it wouldn't be appropriate." Stoops dismisses claims: Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said he saw nothing on tape that would warrant postgame comments criticizing the Sooners' conduct Saturday in a fourth-quarter pileup that resulted in an injury to Cincinnati quarterback Dustin Grutza."Heck, no," Stoops said Sunday. "Absolutely not." Stoops said he saw nothing out of the ordinary."Our guys did what any other guy does, just trying to get a sack," Stoops said. "Unfortunately two guys [were] at him and it ended up, as they're taking him to the ground, his foot was caught, I guess."There was nothing that would have indicated [anything unnecessary]."
