Meet the Sooners tomorrow: The annual Meet the Sooners Day presented by Alltel has been set for August 6, 2008, at the rugby fields west of the Lloyd Noble Center. The event, which is highlighted by Oklahoma football coaches and players signing autographs, draws thousands of fans to Norman each year. Admission to Meet the Sooners Day is free and open to the public. Members of the OG&E Sooner Kids Club are admitted to Meet the Sooners Day 30 minutes before the general public. UPDATED: Coach Stoops unable to attend Meet the Sooners: Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops will not be in attendance at Wednesday's Meet the Sooners event while he attends a memorial service for the late Bobby Murcer. Stoops will instead sign autographs Friday after the team's open practice. "I regret the inconvenience to our fans, but Bobby and I were good friends and I want to be at his service in support of his family," Stoops said. "I will look forward to seeing many of our fans on Friday." The logistics of the Friday signing will be announced within the next 48 hours.

12:30 p.m. - Players and coaches must depart rugby practice field
