Four-Star Quarterback Chooses Illinois over OU
Scheelhaase verbally commits to Illinois: Oklahoma is still looking for a quarterback from the Class of 2009. Four-star dual-threat quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase of Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst announced on a Kansas City TV station Wednesday evening that he is going to Illinois. Scheelhaase chose the Fighting Illini over Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Last month, the Sooners lost out on two quarterbacks: Josh Nunes, who is heading to Tennessee, and Jacob Karam, who committed to Texas Tech. The Sooners currently have three quarterbacks on scholarship in starter Sam Bradford, senior Joey Halzle and true freshman Landry Jones.(The Oklahoman)
