Bob Stoops stops by Butte College: Bob Stoops, the University of Oklahoma's vaunted head football coach, visited the Butte College campus this morning [Thursday]. On Sunday, Stoops received a verbal commitment from standout Butte free safety David Sims, who is expected to start for the Sooners when they begin their Big 12 Conference title defense in the fall. Assistant coaches from some of the nation's top programs routinely visit Butte to recruit Roadrunners players, but appearances from head coaches like Stoops, who have a limitless schedule of offseason obligations, are much more rare.
