(8/17) Second Scrimmage Complete and Oklahoma Articles
Sooners second scrimmage complete, Stoops "We're making progress": Oklahoma completed its second scrimmage of the 2006 preseason drills Wednesday night at the rugby fields near the Lloyd Noble Center. Unlike the first scrimmage last Saturday, this one was closed. The Sooners went through a normal practice and then spent the last 45 minutes of the workout in a scrimmage format. Statistics were not kept, but OU head coach Bob Stoops said his team performed well. "We've still got a lot of polishing to do, but we're making progress," he said. (SoonerSports.com)
Cooper sits out with minor injury: OU was without center Jon Cooper on Wednesday, but Stoops characterized Cooper's injury as, "nothing serious." Chase Beeler and Chris Messner worked at center in Cooper's absence. (SoonerSports.com)
