Oklahoma holds off A&M 36-30
Texas A&M wandered back into its personal haunted house Saturday and discovered that little has changed since its 77-0 loss here two years ago. Oklahoma dominated the first quarter, stormed to a 21-point lead and it appeared the rout was on – again. "The first quarter was a disaster, like Nightmare on Elm Street ," A&M defensive coordinator Carl Torbush said. This time, the Aggies clawed their way back and cut the deficit to six in the fourth quarter. But the Sooners held their breath and held on for a 36-30 victory in front of an Oklahoma Memorial Stadium-record crowd of 84,943. (Dallas Morning News)
