Sad News: A brother of Oklahoma cornerback D.J. Wolfe died Saturday after falling from a roof in Houma, La. Ricky Plaisance, the 18-year-old half-brother of Wolfe, was working on a roof Friday in his hometown when high winds caused him to fall. He was taken off life support Saturday morning. Wolfe was notified of the tragedy Friday while in Lincoln, Neb., for the OU-Nebraska game. (NewsOK.com)
Center Shuffle: Center Chris Chester is expected to return. He has been out since suffering a knee injury Oct. 1 against Kansas State. "He's likely to play," Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said Tuesday. "He's going to be doing some limited action this week and will get more next week." The Sooners will need him. Chris Bush, who moved from guard to center after Chester's injury, broke his right hand Saturday against Nebraska and will have to move back to guard the rest of the season. Chester and Jon Cooper are expected to handle the center position for the rest of the year. (Star-Telegram)
Bush appointments: Center Chris Bush was scheduled to have four wisdom teeth pulled later this week. But after the senior injured his hand against Nebraska, offensive line coach Kevin Wilson said he had Bush's dentist move the surgery up to Monday. "At least he won't be thinking about his hand," Wilson said. (Dallas Morning News)
Neb. sends Big XII Callahan report: Nebraska on Wednesday sent the Big 12 Conference its report on coach Bill Callahan's apparent throat-slashing gesture. Sports information director Keith Mann said athletic director Steve Pederson wouldn't comment on the report, if at all, until after the Big 12 responds. Commissioner Kevin Weiberg wasn't expected to read the report until Thursday, Big 12 publicist Bob Burda said. Callahan was captured on video making a slashing motion across his throat with his right hand, index finger extended, after a dispute with an official in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against Oklahoma. Callahan had been arguing with referee Steve Usechek about no holding being called on Kejuan Jones' 17-yard touchdown run. OU won 31-24. Callahan on Monday denied that he made a throat-slashing gesture toward Usechek or any other official. On Tuesday he acknowledged that he made a "gesture out of frustration," but that it wasn't a throat slash. (SI/AP)
