Sooners Shutdown Jayhawks 19-3
Instead of playing in an NFL venue, maybe Kansas should have moved Saturday's tilt to West Junior High School in Lawrence. Maybe there the Jayhawks' putrid offense wouldn't have felt so out of its element. One measly field goal. That's all Kansas could muster in a 19-3 loss to the Sooners at Arrowhead Stadium. Poisoned with four turnovers from quarterback Brian Luke, the Jayhawks' offense mustered just 106 total yards and failed to reach the end zone for the second consecutive game. Even worse was that the humiliating performance came before 54,109 fans who descended upon Arrowhead hoping to see the Jayhawks upset last year's national title game loser. The game was the first Kansas has ever played in the Kansas City Chiefs' facility. After the way the Jayhawks played Saturday, they may not get asked back. The loss was the third straight for Kansas, which fell to 3-3 overall and 0-3 in league play. Oklahoma improved to 3-3 and 2-1.(Kansas City Star - Stats)
