Peterson says he's ready to go: Running back Adrian Peterson said he will be ready to play this week against Nebraska after sitting out Saturday against Baylor in hopes of finally getting over a sprained ankle. In his first public comments in weeks, Peterson said he was happy to see Jacob Gutierrez run for 173 yards as the Sooners won in double-overtime. But Peterson made it clear he's itching to get back on the field. "Sitting down was the best thing for me instead of going out there and trying and suffering another injury or something like that," Peterson said after Monday's practice. "But when the game started, I couldn't believe that I couldn't get out there and play." (Dallas Morning News)
More on Wilson, and Hickson injuries: Wilson remains OU's leading receiver (19 catches for 241 yards) despite missing the last two games with an injured foot. However, the senior receiver said Monday that he feels good, and he should play Saturday at Nebraska. The prognosis for backup running back Donta Hickson isn't as good. Hickson, who has 115 yards rushing this season, injured an ankle last week in practice. He sat out the Baylor game and might have to miss the Nebraska game. Hickson did not practice Monday. "No, (he's) still very limited," Stoops said. "He's more unlikely (to play)."(NewsOK.com)
