OU Fans expect tighter security tomorrows game: As Oklahoma prepares to host Baylor in Big 12 football action this Saturday, fans planning to attend are reminded of procedures relating to their visits to Gaylord Family -- Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. As recommended in a recent letter from OU President David Boren to season ticket patrons, all those attending the game are encouraged to arrive early to allow for security checks at stadium gates. To expedite stadium entry, fans are encouraged to travel light. Only those bags or items required for medical or child care needs, a woman's small purse, and/or an empty, clear personal-sized container suitable for drinking water will be permitted. Prohibited items include all bags, backpacks, video cameras, large cases for binoculars or other items, fanny packs, and large purses ( larger than 10" by 10"). Security personnel will strictly enforce this ban on these items and patrons are not permitted to bring more than one acceptable bag into the stadium. The university also has discontinued pass outs for those individuals wishing to exit the stadium and return during the game. Only re-entry precipitated by an emergency will be considered. Fans that depart for emergency situations will only be allowed to re-enter with a pass out check and ticket. Those departing the stadium for any reason other than an emergency will not be permitted to re-enter.
