(10/11) Williams moved to corner, KU hopes for 55,000 at Arrowhead and more.
Oklahoma Football Notes and Articles
Williams moved to corner: With Eric Bassey day-to-day with a pulled groin and Marcus Walker hampered by posterior cruciate ligament soreness in his knee, OU has become thin at cornerback. To add depth, Darien Williams has moved from safety. Williams, who began the season as OU's starter at free safety, played corner in his freshman and redshirt freshman seasons. He was moved to safety last spring. (NewsOK.com)
KU officials hope for 55,000 at Arrowhead: KU has averaged 39,746 for its three home games against lightweight nonconference teams. As of Monday afternoon, KU had sold about 46,500 tickets, including about to 26,000 season-ticket holders for Saturday's game at 79,450-seat Arrowhead. Single seats are $55. "We want to be north of 55,000," Marchiony said. "But we haven't said, 'If we don't sell X amount, we don't want to do this again. We have to judge by the entire experience." KU will be able to keep all the gate receipts. But unlike a home game in Lawrence, the Jayhawks won't get any money from concessions or parking. The Chiefs keep all of both. (Kansas.com)
Stoops encourage about Peterson's health: Running back Adrian Peterson's right ankle was sore after limited action against Texas. But coach Bob Stoops said the sophomore is further along in his rehabilitation this week and should be closer to 100 percent Saturday against Kansas. "We're more encouraged every day," Stoops said after Monday's practice. (Dallas Morning News)
Baylor Oklahoma game time set: OU's Oct. 22 game against Baylor at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium will kick off at 6 p.m. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net (Cox 37) and will be the Sooners' second-straight night game and third in their last four. OU plays Kansas at 6 p.m. Saturday, a game that will be carried on TBS. (NewsOK.com)
