Thompson catching passes: OU quarterback Paul Thompson, who will back up Rhett Bomar Saturday against Tulsa, spent some time on his own after practice Tuesday catching passes - not throwing them. Thompson did not work at wide receiver Tuesday. There is no indication a position change is in the works. But Thompson, who started at quarterback against TCU, was recruited by many schools as a receiver. (NewsOK.com)
University of Oklahoma raises over 140k for Relief: Contributions totaling $140,000 were collected at Saturday's game for those affected by Hurricane Katrina, OU President David Boren announced Tuesday. Donation baskets were passed around during the game and all the money will be given to the American Red Cross. (Norman Transcript)

Stoops keeps confidence in Offensive Cord. Long: On Tuesday, at the weekly media luncheon, Stoops answered questions about his confidence in offensive coordinator Chuck Long. And Long defended his new starting quarterback, redshirt freshman Rhett Bomar. "I have total confidence in Chuck, and I think his track record speaks for him," Stoops said. "The proof is in what they've done." Stoops pointed to the success of Long and the offensive staff to adjust the offense to the talent of the team. He mentioned the fact that last year both quarterback Jason White and sophomore running back Adrian Peterson finished in the top three in the Heisman Trophy voting. "Our imagination as a staff, and Chuck's imagination with the offensive staff is to move the football," Stoops said. "And we've done it with the quarterback, we've done it with the shotgun tailback, we've done it with the I (formation) tailback, and we've done it with some great receivers as well. "It's easy to jump on any one guy when something goes wrong." (Oklahoma Daily)
OT Cooper Injured: Freshman offensive lineman Jon Cooper was injured during Monday's practice and won't play Saturday. Cooper, who is 6-3 and weighs 278 pounds, was expected to played against TCU and is one of three freshmen offensive linemen Wilson expects to play this season. Freshmen tackles George "Duke" Robinson and Branndon Braxton are also expected to play against Tulsa. (Norman Transcript)
Millington on Scout team: Coaches allowed sophomore offensive tackle Akim Millington, who quit the team last week, to return to the team Monday. But he didn't reclaim his starting position - far from it. Millington has been working on the scout team. He probably will not play Saturday against Tulsa. (NewsOK.com)
