Oklahoma Sooners Football News and Articles
What's Up with Rankins? Jejuan Rankins, one of Oklahoma's two starting wide receivers, barely made it onto the field Saturday against Tulsa. The senior was listed on the game participation chart, but he wasn't in for many plays. He didn't catch a pass or return any kicks or punts. Rankins had been the starter at punt returner, but redshirt freshman Lendy Holmes was used Saturday. "(We) tried to, he was just hobbling," said OU offensive coordinator Chuck Long of getting Rankins into the game. "We tried to do it, but it just didn't work out." Asked if Rankins was injured, Long said OU coach Bob Stoops would have to answer that question. "We tried to play him and then ... I'll just let Bob talk about all that stuff," Long said.
