Oklahoma Lands Receiver: The Oklahoma football team is getting a tentative verbal commitment from a Kirkwood, Missouri, high school receiver. Jeremy Maclin says he's planning to sign with OU, but adds that Texas Tech is still in his thoughts. Maclin is 6-feet tall, 187-pounds and has run a four-four 40 yard dash. Verbal commitments are not binding. The national signing period for high school football players is in February. (KOTV)

Meet the Oklahoma Sooners: The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department will conduct its annual Meet the Sooners Day for the OU football team on Friday, Aug. 5, on the practice fields immediately south of Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Entry into the event will be through Gate 7 at the northeast corner of the stadium and the line will form from south to north under the east grandstand.
