Outlaw Motor Speedway This
Week: The 2006 points battle begins this Saturday night
April 1st with all five classes beginning the race to the
championship. This week's Grand Marshal is Wren Stratton!
Welcome to Outlaw Motor Speedway Wren.
Muskogee's Gary Andrews looks to defend his three time Modified title
against some of the best Modified drivers in the
region. Andrews has moved into a tie for second most career
wins at Outlaw Motor Speedway with eight. One of the
contenders that pressed Andrews to the wire in 2004 and
2005 was longtime foe Mike "Fuzzy" Withrow. Withrow has been
held winless the past two seasons despite finishing second in
points. Other drivers to keep an eye on this season
are Muskogee drivers Tate Cole, Jarred Russell, Dan Morris,
Kenny Holdridge, Heath Weston, Tahlequah's Jason Teague and
Kreg Dobson, Bixby's Steve Lacy, Webb City, Missouri's Terry
Beckham II, Ft. Smith's Jerry Thompson, Tulsa's John Potter,

Michelle Decker among top 50 finalist, possible full Busch
sponsorship: Michelle Decker is pleased to announce that
she has made the cut to be among the top fifty nominees for
the 2006 version of Racin' for a Livin'. JVI Productions LLC
will present round two of Racin' for a Livin' -- a
once-in-a-lifetime chance to receive seven fully-sponsored
rides in a NASCAR Busch Series car during the 2007 season. JVI
Productions LLC was created by veteran open-wheel racer Jerry
VanDenHul. The series will kick-off using direct Internet
voting to select the twelve participants. Voters can view the
potential rookie drivers, learn about their background and use
Internet video to learn why they are chasing their dreams of
NASCAR glory. Decker is a second-generation racer who was born
into the racing community. Her dad, Mike, was rookie of the
year at the Enid (Okla.) Speedway the year she was born. "I
started racing motorcycles when I was seven years old, from
there I went sand drag racing and then spent the better part
of two years building my first mini stock which I raced
locally for three years," said Decker. "I then moved to
Legends Cars where I got the opportunity to race on dirt and
asphalt, as well as road courses. I was the 1997 Oklahoma
Legends Car Semi-Pro Champion." ( more

Johnson wins back-to-back at
SFS in ASCoT: Racing through heavy lapped traffic, Jason
Johnson found just the opening he needed to charge past
race-long leader Gary Wright on the 23rd lap en route to
completing a sweep of State Fair Speedway's Spring Nationals
in Saturday night's 30-lap O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on
Tour feature event. The "Racin' Cajun" then survived a last
gasp bid for the win from Danny Lasoski to score the weekend
double aboard Lanny Row's Wesmar-powered No. 41 Eagle by a
narrow margin in front of a large crowd on a crisp March
evening, pocketing $6,500 for the weekend sweep. "Lapped
traffic worked out in our favor tonight, it helped us get the
run on Gary that we needed," Johnson explained after his
twelfth career ASCS National Tour victory. "Then the last
couple of laps I saw that 57 on the board (Lasoski) and got a
little nervous because I know he always has some tricks up his
sleeve." But after racing from deep in the field to finish a
close second in Friday night's prelim, Lasoski couldn't pull a
rabbit from his hat on this night, finishing a close second in
front of Jesse Hockett and series point leader Wright. After
winning the Pole Dash, Wright jumped into the early lead as
third-starter Johnson quickly moved into second in front of
Lasoski and Zach Chappell, with front row outside starter
Hockett slipping to fifth in the early stages. (More Including

ASCS
rolls into OKC, track changes at SFS:
Former World of Outlaw champion
Danny Lasoski and Outlaw Rookie of the Year Jason Sides are
scheduled to race tonight. Several track champions from around
the country, and defending ASCS champ Gary Wright are
scheduled to race. Local standouts such as Danny Jennings of
Norman and 13-year-old Trey Robb of Newcastle are in the
field.
Jennings said drivers will be more comfortable with State Fair
Speedway. Promoter Lanny Edwards has moved the light poles to
the infield. If a driver's car goes over the top edge of the
three-eighths mile track, there is no danger of crashing into
a light pole. "I think it was only going to be a matter of
time before somebody got hurt," Jennings said. Edwards also
increased the banking in the turns and on the straight-aways
with hopes of creating more passing lanes. (More at

Outlaw Motor Speedway goes through
makeover
West Siloam Speedway set to
reopen: West Siloam Speedway is set to open this month.
The one-fourth-mile, highbanked oval, red-dirt track is 5 1/2
miles west of the Oklahoma state line on U.S. Highway 412.
Rick and Julie Magnuson of Springdale purchased West Siloam
Speedway in October after hearing that several tracks in the
area were closing and selling land for development. When
tracks in Fayetteville and Pea Ridge closed, those in Salina,
Okla., and Fort Smith became the nearest tracks. Rick Magnuson
couldn't stand the thought of dirt-track racing dying out in
this area, so he bought the track and has spent the last 16
months cleaning it up. (Benton
