Sprints Return After Two Year Absence, Sponsored by Creek Nation Casino

OKTAHA, Okla. --Sprints are back this Friday night. This Friday night the Oil Capital Racing Series Sprints return after a two year absence to Outlaw Motor Speedway. Come see your favorite Sprint drivers battle it out at the 3/8th Mile oval this Friday Night at 8:00 sponsored by Creek Nation Casino. Creek Nation Casino will be giving out prizes to the first 500 fans through the gate and will will handing out free play vouchers while supplies last.

Mike Goodman of Tulsa is the career Sprint wins leader at Outlaw Motor Speedway and took the last sprint race at the track two years ago on April 22, 2006 as he edged current OCRS points leader Jamie Passmore of Rose. Goodman looks to continue his dominance while he Jamie Passmore this Friday night.

"We’re expecting 18-28 cars," Grabel said. "Our car count was 28 last weekend at Creek County (the organizations home track in Sapulpa.)."

Goodman will head the list of sprint drivers that will be on hand. Roy Larkin, Tulsa, a former Creek County Champ is also slated to race. Passmore also a previous winner here and last week’s Creek County feature winner, will be in the field.

"We’re expecting to put on a good show," Grabel said. "There is lots of excitement in sprint car racing."

Eric Shannon, OMS track manager, said special show "is part of the efforts of new promoter Danny Womack to present the best possible racing programs to fans."

The sprints will run a 30-lap feature with heat races determining the lineup, according to Grabel. The number of heat races will depend on the car count.

Modified, Pure Stock, Hobby Stock and Economy Modified will race points races Friday also.

Races begin at 8:00pm, Hot Laps at 7:15pm, Pit Gate opens at 5:30pm and Grandstand Gates will open at 6:00pm.

Grandstand Ticket prices: Grandstand Admission - Adult - $10, Kids 6-12 $5, 5-under is Free, $25 Family Pack (2 adults, 2 kids), $30 Family Pack (2 adults, 4 kids), Senior Citizens 65-up $5. Note: All children must be accompanied by an adult to enter the races.

Pit Admission - Adult $30, Kids $20. ($3 from each adult pit pass will go into the points fund) Note: All children must be accompanied by an adult to enter the pits and must be accompanied by and adult at all time or they will be asked to leave.

MIDGETS MAKE THEIR DEBUT APRIL 25- Next Friday night April 25th, the Southern Midget Racing Series (SMRS) will make their debut at Outlaw Motor Speedway and try to tame the big 3/8th mile track as they open their 2008 season. The next night SMRS will travel to West Siloam Speedway for round two.

Already drivers from six states have verified that they will be on hand to test their skill at Outlaw Motor Speedway for their opening night. Over 40 drivers have raced with SMRS in 2007 and promoter John Stewart expects an added excitement for 2008.

Sapulpa's Gary Taylor (via Snohomish, Washington and Denver, Colorado) took home the SMRS points championship last season, 260 points ahead of 2007 Rookie of the Year Donnie Ray Crawford of Tulsa. Matt Sherrell of Tulsa and Jonathon Beason of Broken Arrow were just eight points behind Crawford in 2007.

Russ Harper, Indiana, Todd McVay, Kansas City, Will Pearce, Kansas City, Rick England, Wichita and Cody Brewer, Choctaw are all scheduled to appear.

NASCAR DUO WALLACE & SCHRADER TO HIGHLIGHT RACE NIGHT

NASCAR IS COMING TO TOWN - The rumors are true. A pair of NASCAR drivers will be coming to Outlaw Motor Speedway Monday June 9, 2008. Kenny Wallace and Kenny Schrader will be bringing their Modifieds to race the 3/8th mille oval against anyone who thinks they can outrun NASCAR talent.

"This is one thing we want to do this year, is have events that have not been done at this track before," said Promoter Danny Womack. "With having two NASCAR drivers coming to our track, not only signing autographs for the fans but race against our drivers, that is something special."

Kenny Wallace on coming to Outlaw Motor Speedway: “Oklahoma is in the heart of short track racing. I am really looking forward to racing at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee! I’m also looking forward to meeting all the race fans and running against the local drivers. Kenny Schrader and I love going to local short tracks and racing against new guys; that’s what real grassroots racing is all about!”

The NASCAR pair will also have an autograph session prior to the races as well as their souvenir trailers.
