Justin Wells Wins Two in a Row

POCOLA, Okla. -- The Race Brothers Show-Me Racin Series loaded up and headed down to Pocola, Oklahoma. The track was in excellent racing condition for the 28 late models to put on a great show for the fans in the stands.

There were four heats that determined who would get to race in the A main. Conner Ward in the 56 took the win in heat 1 followed closely by the 15 of Kevin Henson. Leslie Essary in the 5 was followed by the 28 of Jimmy Greenway in heat 2. Heat 3 was won by the 10 of Justin Wells followed by the 55 of Ken Essary. Rick Lebow and Jarrod Hilton took the top two positions in heat 4. Ken Essary received the KRC passing points gift certificate for having the highest passing points from the heats.

Eleven cars lined up for the B main. Only the top four would transfer into the A main. Roger Wilson in the 77, the 21 of Mike Madison, the 7a of Justin Asplin, and Ken Patterson in the 98 took the four transfer positions. The 6 of Chad Pyle and the 5M of Tyler Milner made the A main through the 2 provisional positions.

The 11 of Jarrod Hilton would set the pace from the pole position. The green dropped and the battle began. Everyone was racing hard for the spot just in front of them. Wells was coming on strong but Hilton was holding on to the first position. Wells finally managed to get around Hilton began to pull away. The one and only caution of the night came out for Scott Frye in turn two. The green was thrown again and it was back to racing. The 00 of Jim Fulp, Ken Essary in the 55 and the 5 of Leslie Essary were all fighting hard for the second position, 2 and 3 wide for nearly half of the race. Wells continued to pull away and ended up taking the victory followed by Leslie Essary in the 5, the 00 of Jim Fulp, the 55 of Ken Essary and, Jarrod Hilton in the 11 round out the top five. Tyler Milner won the Wee Willy’s Big Hawg Hard Charger award advancing 8 positions.

Come to West Plains Motor Speedway on May 5 and watch the Race Brothers Show-Me Racin Series. Gates open at 5:00 with hot laps at 6:00 and racing at 7:00. Pit admission will be $30 and Grandstand $15 for adult and $4 for kids.
