NASCAR to announce television package

NASCAR could announce Thursday in New York City, the new
2007 television package to include, ESPN/ABC, TNT and
FOX.
The deal is reportedly worth $550 million
annually for eight years and $4.5 billion total. All separate deals,
which include a $270 million annual deal between
ESPN/ABC to telecast 17 NEXTEL races, all Busch series
races and majority on Disney's ESPN 2 network, and all
10 Chase races on ABC. Turner's TNT will pay $80
million per year, to air 6 NEXTEL Cup races in June and
July receiving 3 races from both FOX and previous
package between NBC/TNT.
Fox will maintain
there current rights fee of $200 million, minus the
Busch races, and only 13 NEXTEL Cup races. Although, Fox
is expected to receive exclusive Daytona 500 rights,
which previously alternated between current package
holders Fox/NBC.
