CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Office
Depot Ford Fusion (Qualified 7th) – “It’s unbelievable.
I told the Busch guys this morning after I got out of
the car that it doesn’t get any better than this. The
track is awesome. You run right by the wall. It’s fast.
Fresh tires are like the greatest thing you ever felt in
your life. Hopefully that will hold up for a top 10. We
need some good runs here.”
HOW CLOSE WERE YOU TO THE WALL? “They said I could get
as close as I want and I’ll be all right.”
YOU’VE HAD THREE STRAIGHT TOP 10s BUT THAT CAN CHANGE
HERE. “Yeah, but this place is fun. I love it. Hopefully
our qualifying lap will be up there in the front. We’ve
had three top 10s in a row with our Office Depot team
and if we can have a couple more we’ll be right up there
in there in that top 10 and that’s what it’s all about.”
ELLIOTT SADLER – No. 38 M&M’S Ford Fusion (Qualified
6th) – “I’m very happy with it. The guys made some
changes after practice. That will be in the top 10, I
hope. I think it will be close to that. I think some
guys will beat that as the session goes on, but for
right now I’m very happy with my guys. I think we had a
good lap and we should be fine.”
THIS PLACE CAN TURN THINGS AROUND FOR YOU. “I think so.
This track has always been good to me and always been
good to this race team since I’ve been here. We got our
first pole together here, so we always run good at this
track. The guys have brought me a really good race car
and it was good today in race trim. I think in
qualifying we’ll be in the top 10 or top 11 – something
like that – which will be a decent starting spot for
tomorrow night. This is a great place to turn things
around, so we’ll see what happens.”
MARK MARTIN – No. 6 AAA Ford Fusion (Qualified 17th) –
“I’m disappointed but it’s better than we practiced. I
was hoping for a miracle there and we didn’t quite get
it. We just haven’t managed to get it just right yet. We
just really haven’t had enough practice and enough tires
to get the car where we need it. We’ll just have to
start in the back of the pack and see if we can work our
way up.”
JAMIE MCMURRAY – No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion
(Qualified 15th) – “That was a good pick up. We picked
up a lot, but just maybe not enough. The car has felt
good all day, so we’ll see what happens tomorrow. It’s a
long race here and you get so many opportunities to
adjust on your car that if you’re not right at the
beginning, you can certainly get your car good by the
end.”
GREG BIFFLE – No. 16 National Guard Ford Fusion
(Qualified 9th) – “We had an awesome car. I don’t know
if we had a chance for the pole, but we could have been
in the top two or three. I was just too loose to get the
gas down, but I’ve got a good car. I feel good about the
race tomorrow. I think I’ve got a great car. It’s come
off the truck really good and I’m pretty confident about
it.”
