Dover International Speedway and Bank of America today announced that the June 4, 2006, NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race has been named the "Neighborhood Excellence 400 presented by Bank of America." The change in name reflects both Bank of America's completed merger with MBNA, which sponsored races at Dover International Speedway since 1995, and its commitment to creating and sustaining vibrant communities, neighborhood by neighborhood. "Our relationship with MBNA has been a great one for many years. With the merger now complete, we are pleased to welcome Bank of America to Dover International Speedway for this NASCAR NEXTEL Cup race," said Denis McGlynn, President and CEO of Dover Motorsports, Inc. "Our team couldn't be more pleased with the way Bank of America has embraced our race to demonstrate its commitment to the people and neighborhoods in cities across the country."

Opening Doors for Our Communities Bank of America has long held the belief that a healthy community is a healthy place to do business. At the core of this belief is Bank of America's leadership in helping people and communities achieve neighborhood excellence. "Neighborhood excellence" is about identifying critical issues in local communities and directing resources - through sponsorships, philanthropy, volunteerism and community development - to address those challenges.

* Sponsorships: One of the most important ways that Bank of America participates in the lives of its customers and communities is through sponsorships. While sponsorships, like the Neighborhood Excellence 400, help improve public awareness of the bank's products and services, they also make it possible for communities and fans to enjoy events that enrich lives, broaden experiences, and, often, attract economic growth to a community. * Philanthropy and Volunteerism: Bank of America continues to deliver upon its .5 billion, 10-year goal for philanthropic giving with a national strategy delivered locally through a concentrated focus on building the capacity and leadership of community organizations complemented by support of national partnerships and anchor institutions. As part of its philanthropic giving, Bank of America will donate 0 million to charity in 2006. Through its worldwide Team Bank of America volunteer network, Bank of America's associates volunteered an unprecedented 650,000 hours in 2005 and substantial financial contributions devoted to local causes. * Community Development: Bank of America brings to cities throughout the United States the power of its human and financial capital to turn communities into vibrant, desirable places to live, work and raise families. By helping people reach their personal and financial goals, Bank of America strengthens its surrounding communities. The company's 0 billion goal for community development lending and investing is one of the largest in the country.

"At Bank of America, we recognize that in order for a community to remain healthy and economically vibrant, we need to invest in that community by promoting and creating neighborhood excellence," said Rick Parsons, Brand Marketing Executive, Bank of America. "Through our support for the Neighborhood Excellence 400, we can demonstrate the company's model for creating positive change in neighborhoods and communities through private partnerships, philanthropic investment, volunteerism and community development."

A Platform for Giving Back Bank of America's sponsorship of the neighborhood Excellence 400 provides the company with a platform to impact local communities. Prior to the race, Bank of America will coordinate a day of community service, enlisting its Team Bank of America network of volunteers to work alongside Dover International Speedway staff on local revitalization projects designed to help improve the community's quality of life.

Following the June 4 race, Bank of America will present charitable donations to organizations that, through dedication, commitment and perseverance, have created positive change within Delaware's communities. The grants, distributed by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, will be made in honor of the winning driver of the Neighborhood Excellence 400.
