SPEED READS PR

FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb. 14, 2006) – This Sunday, during the Daytona 500, Texas Motor Speedway will launch the most comprehensive regional marketing plan in the speedway's 10-year history. "The Great American Speedway!" has put together an unparalleled marketing and advertising campaign to reach hundreds of thousands of race fans in a three-state region. Focusing on television, the ambitious advertising plan will begin with regional spots on NBC affiliates during Sunday's Daytona 500, followed by an extensive advertising schedule on KDFW-TV (FOX 4) in Fort Worth/Dallas during eight NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races. Never before has Texas Motor Speedway embarked on such a unique marketing initiative that includes all of the major media markets in the region.

"This is a special anniversary season for the speedway, and we want as many fans as possible to share in our celebration," speedway president Eddie Gossage said. "This marketing plan is one of the most creative and far-reaching efforts we have ever produced. Some of our most loyal fans are within a short driving distance of Texas Motor Speedway, and we want to make sure they know we are only a few weeks away from the start of our '10 Years Strong' season of racing."

The speedway ticket office will be staffing up on these race days to accommodate fans ordering tickets for the individual races.

Approximately 80% of fans who attend the races at Texas Motor Speedway are within a 3˝ hour drive of the speedway. The regional marketing plan begins with television commercials on NBC stations on Sunday in 14 markets, promoting the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Samsung/RadioShack 500 weekend (April 6-9). In Texas, advertising during the Daytona 500 will air in Abilene, Amarillo, Austin, Corpus Christi, Houston, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, Nacogdoches, San Antonio, Sherman/Denison, Tyler/Longview, and Wichita Falls/Ada (Okla.). In addition, the commercials will run in Tulsa, Okla., and Shreveport, La. NBC NASCAR announcer Wally Dallenbach is featured in Sunday's spots on the network that will carry the Daytona 500. The Dickies 500 (Nov. 5) at Texas Motor Speedway will air on NBC.

"Wally Dallenbach is a good friend of Texas Motor Speedway, and fans will enjoy him in the commercials," Gossage said. "This is a very high profile start to our marketing campaign."

The regional marketing plan shifts to FOX following the Daytona 500, with commercials airing on Fort Worth-Dallas FOX affiliate KDFW-TV. The Samsung/RadioShack 500 (April 9) will air on FOX. The four NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races following the Daytona 500 will feature advertising promoting the April 6-9 Samsung/RadioShack 500 weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Lead FOX NASCAR announcer Mike Joy will be featured in the commercials that air on KDFW-TV on NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race days at California (Feb. 26), Las Vegas (March 12), Atlanta (March 19), and Bristol (March 26).

Following the Samsung/RadioShack 500 weekend (April 6-9) at Texas Motor Speedway, the regional plan unveils advertising focused on the Dickies 500 weekend (Nov. 2-5). Advertising again featuring Mike Joy will air on Fort Worth-Dallas FOX affiliate KDFW-TV promoting the November race weekend during NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races at Phoenix (April 22), Talladega (April 30), Lowe's Motor Speedway (May 28), and Daytona (July 1).
