P
Diddy Bad Boy Notes
5/12
In Search For
Next Band
Calling
all talented ladies, P Diddy is looking for you!
In the search for the next
Making the Band,
Sean Combs is in search for the best female
talent.
“If
you can sing like Beyonce and move like Britney,
he wants you!” MTV’s Web site urges in a “Making
the Band” audition notice. “Don’t disappoint the
Diddy.”
“Making the Band” throws together talented – and,
as required in reality TV, very attractive – young
people into a house, filming them as they try to
form a musical group.
MTV says it will send four
“celebrity judges,” but network publicist Graham
James said he was unsure whether Combs himself
would be at the Beach.
On the final episode of “Making the Band 2,” Combs
vowed to go out and find that talent himself.
The first “Making the Band” show, then on ABC,
yielded the boy-band O-Town. Combs took over the
show later and created a group called Da Band. The
group recorded “Too Hot for TV,” which sold
200,000 copies its first week.
But the most recent “Making the Band” ended with
Combs disbanding the new ensemble, saying the
contestants weren’t ready for the big time. He has
given three of the young women a free pass to
return and compete against the group chosen in
this round of auditions.

Plane Struck By Lighting
Sean Combs
plane was recently struck by lighting and forced
to make emergency lading, which was headed to
Miami to take him to a speech, was hit with a bolt
of lightning over the weekend. Fortunately, nobody
was injured in the incident and the
rapper/actor/producer went on to his event
unscathed.
According to the New York Post, Diddy was in Miami
to talk about his Sean Jean clothing line.
Warner's IPO Slips
Warner Music Group cut down its
offering price to $17 per share late last night.
Warner, trading under the WMG symbol on the New
York Stock Exchange, got off to a sluggish start
after falling 85 cents to $16.15 in early trading.
Sources say the company, which listed the initial
price at $22 to $24 per share, reduced the shares
to $17 once word spread that the high price was
unjustified.
Led by Edgar Bronfman Jr., private investors
bought Warner Music Group for $2.6 billion last
year. Warner's artists include Madonna,
Missy, Fabolous, Fat Joe,
Lil' Kim and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs,
who recently sold half of his Bad Boy
Entertainment to the company for a reported $30
million.
Combs was on hand to represent Warner at the
recent IPO road show. Diddy mingled with Wall
Street executives and signed autographs in hope to
convince potential investors into purchasing
Warner shares.
