Boyz N Da Hood,
ATL's Most Wanted Group, Take Over Radio and TV;
Debut Bad Boy/Block Entertainment Album Drops
Today
The self-titled
collection features the hit single, "Dem Boyz,"
and is the first release from the new joint
venture between Bad Boy Entertainment and Warner
Music Group.
"Dem Boyz" is currently
exploding at Urban radio, coming in this week at
#15 with-a-bullet. The single has also bulleted
into the top 25 on Billboard's "R&B/Hip-Hop Songs"
listing and is climbing the charts at CHR/Rhythmic
outlets nationwide.
The video clip for "Dem
Boyz" is in constant rotation on BET's "106 & Park
Top 10 Countdown" show, peaking at #5, and is in
heavy rotation on "Rap City." On Tuesday, June
21st, Boyz N Da Hood are slated to appear on "106
& Park," for an exclusive live performance of "Dem
Boyz," and they also hosted the "Rap City Top 10
Countdown" on June 18th.
At MTV, "Dem Boyz" is the
week's #15 most-played video. Today, June 20th,
Boyz N Da Hood will be featured on the network's
"10 Spot Drop," an inventive weekly promotion that
introduces new bands to the network's audience via
a series of unique 15-second spots as well as
cross-promotion at MTV.com. On MTV.com, the Boyz N
Da Hood content page will feature exclusive
photos, ringtones, and the full-length video for
"Dem Boyz."
Over at MTV2, "Dem Boyz"
is featured on the "Hip Hop Show," and also
continues to receive major network-wide rotation.
In addition, MTV Jams has the clip in Sizzlin'
rotation, while "BOYZ N DA HOOD" is currently
streaming in its entirety at "The Leak" at MTV.com (http://www.mtv.com/music/the_leak/).
Boyz N Da Hood are also
featured on Grand Hustle/Atlantic's upcoming
soundtrack to the film, "Hustle & Flow" (due in
stores on July 12th). On June 27th, the group will
take part in a major concert event celebrating the
film and its soundtrack. In addition to Boyz N Da
Hood, the all-star show at Hollywood's House of
Blues will feature a number of the soundtrack's
stars, including T.I. & P$C, Juvenile, Lil Jon,
Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Webbie, Lil Scrappy, and
Trina.
Comprised of Duke, Big
Gee, Jeezy, and Jody Breeze, Boyz N Da Hood is a
collaboration of four of the grimiest, truest
rappers to ever come from the ATL. Inspired by the
legendary gangsta supergroup NWA, their debut
album displays the quartet's undeniable chemistry,
with each member offering their own unique style
and streetwise perspective. The 16-track set
explicitly conveys the harsh realities of their
Dirty South 'hood on such electrifying tracks as "Gangstas,"
featuring Eazy E, "Felonies" and "Don't Put Your
Hands On Me." Executive produced by Sean "P.
Diddy" Combs and Russell "Block" Spencer, and
featuring production by Jazze Pha (T.I., Nelly,
Twista), Frank Nitti, DJ Toomp (Ludacris, T.I.,
Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz), and Erik Sermon, "BOYZ
N DA HOOD" packs the summer's hardest-hitting
hip-hop punch.
Also look out for the
"Dem Boyz Got Rims" game, where one lucky fan will
win a set of Sean John rims. Go to www.boyzndahood.com for more details.
